Harbor Commission Meeting
April 20, 2020
Zoom Meeting called to order by Harbor Commission Chairman Chuck Perry at 7:03 PM
Members present online: Chuck Perry, Pauline Colamatteo, Mark Halvorson, Will Tillmans, Jessica Resac, Jesse Kaseno and David Tillmans. Town of Bell Chairman Roger Lindgren was also present online.
A motion was made by Jesse seconded by Dave, to accept the minutes as of the previous meeting as read. The motion carried unanimously.
Conflict of Interest:
No reports were given.
No old business discussed.
President Chuck has had inquiries concerning our COVID-19 deposit and fee refund policy. Only one person, Mark Dahl has asked for a refund other than Captain Jody. The marinas are not closed; therefore, we will adopt a wait and see policy, and decide on a case by case situation. We will discuss at the next meeting.
Jessica gave her report on the slip leases. She has collected $12306.23, that includes funds in the cash box at marina. The balance due is $6118.70, with 10 boat owners still not paid in full. There are 17 slips still open. Jessica put an ad in the Bottom Line, and President Chuck asked her to put an ad in the Daily Press. We can also put it on Facebook on the Cornucopia page. Pauline will facilitate that when Jessica sends her the information.
President Chuck had only received one application for the position of Secretary-Treasurer, that being Marybeth Tillmans. Dave and Will Tillmans recused themselves from this portion of the meeting. There was a motion made by Pauline to hire Marybeth Tillmans as Secretary for the Harbor Commission. It was seconded by Jessica. The motion carried unanimously.
President Chuck received correspondence from former Sec-Treasurer Vicki Lewis Hay asking to be reimbursed $40.00 for a tape recorder she purchased to use for meeting minutes. Jesse made a motion to reimburse Vicki Lewis Hay for her purchase of a $40 tape recorder. Pauline seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
The Board discussed the issue of the raising up of the buildings at the marina, President Chuck will meet with the owners to research possibilities that they can afford.
Town of Bell Chairman Roger discussed the Small Harbor grant, the letter of intent is due in June, and the actual grant request is due in August.
Next meeting in May, date and time to be determined. Motion was made by Pauline to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Jesse. Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned 8:18 PM.
Respectfully submitted by Pauline Colamatteo.
