ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

7:00 PM Tuesday, April 18, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.  R. Lindgren chaired the meeting.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

 

 ANNUAL MEETING AGENDA

 

  1. Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting – Pauline Colamatteo made a motion to approve

the minutes and Jackie Eid 2nd the motion. Unanimous decision. Approved.

  1. Annual Treasurers Report – Jackie Eid made a motion to approve the report and

Gordon Anderson 2nd the motion.  Unanimous decision. Approved.

  1. Selection of Town Attorney – J. Kaseno made a motion to continue using

Spears, Carlson Coleman. Pauline Colamatteo 2nd the motion. Unanimous

decision. Approved.

  1. Selection of Town Assessor – M. Tillmans made a motion to use Gardiner Appraisal

Service and Jesse Kaseno 2nd the motion. Unanimous decision. Approved.

  1. Selection of Bank – J. Olson made a motion to have Chippewa Valley Bank as the

town bank and Judy Becker 2nd the motion.  Unanimous decision.  Approved.

  1. Selection of Official Newspaper – J. Kaseno made a motion to have Ashland Daily

Press as the official newspaper and Matt Lazorik 2nd the motion.

Unanimous decision. Approved.

  1. Review of 2022 – R. Lindgren gave a report.
  2. Swearing in of Town Officers

The following officers were sworn in:

Matt Lazorik – Chairperson

Paul Ehlers – Supervisor – To be sworn in later when present.

Jackie Eid – Supervisor

Janice Olson – Treasurer

MaryBeth Tillmans – Clerk

  1. Set Date for 2024 Annual Town Meeting – April 16, 2024

 

 

New Business

  1. Open Period for Questions/Comments

– Roger Lindgren – Bayfield Co. Clean Sweep on Sept. 23rd at the Ashland Great

Lakes Visitor Center

-The Bayfield Co. Sheriffs Dept. has assigned officers to each town.

Bayfield Co. Sheriff Dept. has assigned Officer Jefferess to the Town of Bell

– Judy Becker – The Coffee Cart held at the Community Center this winter had 277

people and raised $284.00.

– MaryBeth Tillmans – The Cornucopia Harbor has been awarded 1.12 million

dollars for dredging. The money will go to the Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE)

for dredging. It is from a congressional add on to the president’s 2023 budget.

David and Will Tillmans have been working on this for over three years with the

ACOE, politicians and multiple government agencies to make this happen.

 

  1. Person of the Year/Good Citizen Award

The award was given to Judy Kerr for her years of service and dedication to the

town.

 

At 7:37p.m., J. Kaseno made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Jane Luehring 2nd the motion.  Unanimous decision.  Approved.
