Seasonal Road Weight Restrictions in Effect Starting Monday March 8, 2021

Bayfield County is posting the county roads at 9AM Monday the 8th.  Town Roads will follow suit.  Hwy 13 won’t have weight restrictions, but the county and town roads will.

There are exemptions like school buses, fuel delivery, sanitary, agricultural, etc.

Truck Drivers are trained to be aware of these restrictions.

What you need to be aware of:  Take note that you will be unable to take delivery of concrete, large loads – 18 wheeler – of firewood or other large and heavy loads including building materials.

If delivery of such materials is urgent – and does not involve a county road – it may be possible on a case by case basis depending on the condition of the involved road.

SPRING LOAD RESTRICTIONS

Pursuant to Section 348.16, Wisconsin Statutes, the Bayfield County Highway Department will impose spring breakup road restrictions beginning 9:00 A.M.- MONDAY, March 08, 2021. Please check our web page for updated information: https://www.bayfieldcounty.org/142/Highway.

All County road restrictions (lettered roads) shall be posted for 6 Tons maximum per single axle and 10 ton maximum per tandem axle group. All non – divisible overweight permits will be suspended at this time.

Exception to the posting: CTH-F from USH 63 westerly 1-mile.
