Town of Bell Planning Commission Meeting Minutes Oct. 3, 2019
Meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Jackie Eid
Commission members present: Dave Tillmans, Gordon Anderson, Mark Ehlers, Jackie Eid
Absent: Greg Weiss
Community members present: Matt Hipsher, Phil and Nancy Moye, Roger Lindgren
- Minutes from the Sept. 5, 2019 meeting were reviewed and approved as written. Motion to approve by Gordon Anderson, second by Dave Tillmans. Unanimous
- Correspondence/Updates: Bayfield County did not have a meeting this month so no paperwork work was received for Robert and Leigh Young. Will be on November’s agenda.
The copy of the Town of Bell Comprehensive Plan that Bayfield County has is a brochure. Need to research the adoption of the plan and make sure everything is up to date.
- Parking Plan: Gordy spoke with Dennis Edwards about selling the lot on the corner of Superior Ave. and Cedar St. Mark suggested parking be provided by business owners along Superior Ave. How will expanding parking affect residences? Overnight and long term parking regulations. Size (length) of vehicles has become an issue. Going to explore WisDOT grant for funding.
- WisDOT: Exploring the grant for funding to try and tie crosswalk and sidewalk along the west side of Superior Ave with curb and gutter. Recommending the sidewalk run from Hwy 13 south to Cty C. We will be listening to a webinar Oct. 10 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. for information about the grant availability with a short meeting immediately following to discuss and assign duties. Matt Hipsher will put feelers out regarding cost estimates.
- Next Planning Commission meeting is Nov. 7, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. downstairs.
