TOWN OF BELL BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 11, 2024
7:00 p.m.
at the Community Center
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Board members present were Matt Lazorik, Jackie Eid, James Kaseno, Gordon Anderson, Paul Ehlers, MaryBeth Tillmans and Janice Olson.
-Board Meeting Minutes-P. Ehlers made a motion to approve the Board Meeting minutes of
May and J. Kaseno 2nd the motion. Unanimous decision. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report –J. Eid made a motion to approve the reports and J. Kaseno 2nd the
motion. Unanimous decision. Approved.
Board Comments –
- Ehlers – The new website is being worked on. A mock up of the homepage was done.
Correspondence– None
Committee Reports-Reviewed
Sanitary District –They have been communicating with Tammy Baldwin’s office for a
Congressional direct spending request. The request is for 2.1 million dollars for the Town of
Bell Sewage Treatment Facility. The request has been accepted. The next step is for
Senate’s appropriations approval.
Public Comments
Roger Lindgren – Town board was provided a link for a power point presentation on the
Town of Bell Senior Housing project.

New Business
- McCowan short term rental application, discussion and decision
Their application was complete. P. Ehlers made a motion to approve the
Short Term Rental application and J. Eid 2nd the motion. Vote (3Yes – 0No).
J. Kaseno abstained from voting. Approved.
2, Review Town of Bell private driveway ordinance #07-01, discussion
M. Lazorik would like to revisit the ordinance. There are no stipulations for winter
time. There needs to be a focus on the approach where the driveway meets the
road. The culvert sizing and width of the approach need to be correct. If these
requirements are not correct, it could be a finable offense, snowplowing or short
term rental may not be allowed, if the requirements are not met. A draft will be
worked on.
- Approve liquor licenses, discussion and decision
Little Nikki’s – G. Anderson made a motion to approve the “Class B” liquor license and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion. Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting.
Approved. Note: This is only for the period until sale closes, if needed.
Poncho’s Tavern – J. Kaseno made a motion to approve the “Class B” liquor license
for the current licensing period and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion. Vote (4 Yes – 0 No).
M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved. Note: The licensing period is for
period after sale of Little Nikki’s closes.
J. Kaseno made a motion to approve the Class B license and
G. Anderson 2nd the motion. Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from
voting. Approved. This is for the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30th , 2025.
O’Bryon Properties– P. Ehlers made a motion to approve the “Class B” liquor license
and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion. Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting.
Approved.
The Cornucopia Sweet Shoppe– G. Anderson made a motion to approve the
Class “B” Beer and “Class C” Liquor license and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
Ehlers Store– J. Kaseno made a motion to approve the Class “B” Beer and “Class C”
Liquor license and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
The Fish Shed– P. Ehlers made a motion to approve the Class “B” Beer and
“Class C” Liquor license and G. Anderson 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
The Fisherman’s Hideout– J. Kaseno made a motion to approve the Class “B” Beer
and “Class C” Liquor license and G. Anderson 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
Siskowit Farm Store– J. Kaseno made a motion to approve the
Class “B” Beer and “Class C” Liquor license and P. Ehlers 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
Star North– G. Anderson made a motion to approve the
Class “A” Beer and “Class A” Liquor license and J. Kaseno 2nd the motion.
Vote (4 Yes – 0 No). M. Lazorik abstained from voting. Approved.
Public Comment Period
. R. Lindgren – When the board reviews the Driveway Ordinance they should consider the
implications.
J. Eid made a motion at 7:24 pm to adjourn the meeting and J. Kaseno 2nd the motion. Unanimous decision. Approved.
