Snowmobile Route Ordinance
Ordinance No. 2010-1

The Town Board of the Town of Bell, Bayfield County, State of Wisconsin, being duly assembled at a
Regular Town Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, does hereby ordain the
following Snowmobile route ordinance in accordance with all Wisconsin Statues section 340.01 (58a)
This re-places ordinance# 1996-1 and does not re-place ordinance# 2002-1

Section 1 – Intent
The Town of Bell, Bayfield County adopts the following Snowmobile route for the operation of Snow­ mobiles upon roadways listed in Section 3. Following due consideration of the recreational value to connect trail opportunities and weighted against possible dangers, public health, liability aspects, terrain involved, traffic density and history of automobile traffic, these routes have been created.

Section 2 – Statutory Authority
These routes are created pursuant to village authority under section 1.1.01 as authorized by Wis. Statues 350.04 (2)
The applicable provisions of 350.04 regulating Snowmobile operation pursuant to routes are adopted.

Section 3 – Routes
All town roads in the Town of Bell open to Snowmobile traffic shall be posted/signed in Accordance with NR 50.10, and NR 50.10 (3). All other town roads not properly posted/signed, are then deemed not opened as snowmobile routes and will be considered closed.

Section 4 – Conditions
All Snowmobile operators shall comply with Wisconsin Snowmobile Laws.

Section 5 – Enforcement
This ordinance shall be enforced by any law enforcement officer authorized to enforce the laws of Bayfield County and The State of Wisconsin.

Section 6 – Penalties
Snowmobile penalties as found in Wis. Stat. Section 350.11 are adopted by reference.

Section 7 – Severability
The provision of this ordinance shall be deemed severable and it is expressly declared that the Town of
Bell would have passed the other provisions of this ordinance irrespective of whether or not one or more provisions may be declared invalid. If any provision of this ordinance or the application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance and the application of such provisions to other persons circumstances shall not be deemed affected.
