There will be a Senior Housing community workshop and dinner at 6pm on Thursday, September 26th at the Town of Bell Community Center.

The Town Board authorized the Senior Housing Group, in cooperation with the Bayfield County Housing Authority (BCHA), to develop a proposal for Senior Housing in Cornucopia.

The proposal is limited to housing for seniors aged 62+ living independently at a rent they can afford. BCHA applied for and received a grant to facilitate development of the proposal.

The meeting and dinner on September 26th is focused on reporting results from an ongoing community survey and, more importantly, soliciting public input regarding opinions of what senior housing should “look like” regarding features, elevations, amenities, etc.

The team from Design Wisconsin includes volunteer architects and engineers that are very experienced in this work.

The following day – Friday, September 27th – the design team will present their concept that will be the basis for a proposal for the Town Board to consider.
