Bayfield County Accepts Offer Of Ownership to the Swenson Forest Preserve Project

At their March 20th meeting, the Bayfield County Board of Supervisors voted UNANIMOUSLY (13-0) to support the Swenson Forest Preserve Project, accepting ownership and management of the property.

About 25 friends of the project were in attendance and 8 voiced their support in the public forum.  Supervisors Larry Fickbohm and Jeff Silbert also expressed their support for the project, its value to the Town of Bell and future generations, and their confidence in Bayfield County Forestry’s responsible management of this special place.

The Bayfield Regional Conservative and Bayfield County officials continue their efforts to finalize the NOAA grant.  The timeline remains in their hands, but those involved remain proactive and continue to push for a closing in May.
