The Town of Bell is hiring a part-time Administrative Assistant for a position beginning April 15, 2021. This is a 10 hour per week position with telecommuting possibilities, though some in-office work may be required. Upon hiring, the assistant will be expected to establish regular office hours for two or three days a week (for a total of 10 hours) during which they will be available for in-office or at-home work. In addition, the assistant will be expected to attend monthly board meetings to run PowerPoint presentations and provide technical support as needed. Board meetings occur at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.

Hours per week: 10
Compensation: $15 / hour

Responsibilities:
– Post notices on the town website
– Twice monthly mailing of town board agenda and minutes
– Maintain and update the town mailing list
– Proofread and format documents, including but not limited to letters, emails, ordinances, and other policy documents
– Develop forms and templates to aid in efficiency and standardization

Qualifications:
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including mail merge, track changes, and proofreading tools (in Word) and basic Excel
– Familiarity with WordPress and MailChimp preferred; however, the town can provide training if necessary
– Qualified candidate will be comfortable operating basic office equipment (computer, scanner, printer) and willing and able to troubleshoot minor problems (for example, locating and downloading appropriate printer drivers)
