July 7, 2021 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
Town of Bell Planning Commission Minutes July 7, 2021 4:00 p.m.
Commissioners present: Gordon Anderson, Jackie Eid
Members of the public: Nancy Moye, Dan & Patti Holman, Scott McCafferty, Linda Barnes, Cindy Schmidt
There was not a quorum so nothing was voted nor any recommendations made.
- Review/Approve prior meeting minutes held till August meeting.
- Correspondence/Updates: None
- Public Comment: added to the various discussion points
- Cedar St. One way seasonally: Scott McCafferty mentioned that it’s a little annoying due to the way his driveway is angled. Said minor inconvenience. Maybe place sign on the north end of Michigan stating no left turn. Nancy Moye agreed with Scott McCafferty.
- Dog Ordinance: Will review at August meeting
- Lost Creek Rd. Town owned parcel: Linda Barnes commented there is a nice sand beach for now. She thinks it may be a wetland/bog area. With restricted parking to one side emergency vehicles don’t seem to have a problem. Nancy Moye didn’t think using that area for a parking lot is a good idea. Maybe a little more signage that signifies private property and a sign stating end of public beach.
- Plan survey and amendments: Tabled till August
- Noise levels: Dan Holman commented that he understands early noises being in a commercial district. Having bands brings local musicians. Would like to work with the Town on the noise levels. The hours of 8-12 were picked based off of what they were required to do in Bayfield. They would like to get more Jazz and Blues bands. If possible they would like to work with the Town versus writing an ordinance. Scott McCafferty appreciates the musicians and only one time questioned the type of music. Gordon Anderson agrees with the concept of working together, sitting down and talking about and resolving the issues.
- August 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. is the next meeting date
- Called the discussion at 5:00 p.m.
