Town of Bell Planning Commission Minutes

Wednesday May 5, 2021 Town of Bell Community Center

Meeting called to order at 4:00 p.m.

Commissioners present: Dave Tillmans, Gordon Anderson, Greg Weiss, Mark Ehlers, Jackie Eid

Community members present: Nancy Moye, Matt Hipsher, Roger Lindgren

April 14, 2021 meeting minutes. Motion to approve by Dave Tillmans, second Gordon Anderson. Unanimous

Correspondence/Updates: Crosswalk at Hwy 13 and Superior Ave. Fill for north side of highway “landing area” will require DOT approval as it will be in the DOT r.o.w. Talked about budgeting for Dynamic Radar sign.

Comprehensive Plan Survey: Will have on each agenda till we finish the project. Phil Moye emailed his combined data from the two surveys that have been done. One thought was to adopt the plan as is and annually or bi-annually look at any possible updates.

2021 CDBG-PF Grant: We will not be able to make this years deadline. Will keep on agenda so we have a project(s) ready to apply for in 2022.

Stormwater Drainage Issues: Matt has talked with DOT and they will be clearing the ditch of any blockages on the south side of the highway from Superior Ave. to the river. When completed this should help divert water to the river. Also check with landowners along the west shoreline and see if they would be willing to consider culverts under their walkways to the beach to help with the movement of water.

June meeting date: June 2, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Community Center.
