Town of Bell Parks and Lands Meeting Minutes
Friday, September 2, 2022 9:15 am Cornucopia Community Center

Committee Chair Doug Becker called the meeting to order at 9:33 am.
Old Business:
- Approve Minutes: Date of minutes corrected. Minutes were approved.
- Budget review – in process.
- Campground
- Use update
- $1310 collected this month.
- Regular trash pickup has resumed.
- Use update
- Judy K. is checking that campers are registered.
- Siskiwit Lake Boat Launch
- Donation box collections report – Gina collected $15 this month.
- Parking – no further problems.
- Maintenance
- Beach restrooms
- Plexiglass& new soap dispenser installation completed.
- Judy K. has been removing graffiti.
- Sidewalk Repair Update
- Doug inspected the well overflow drain; a mason will be contacted to repair sidewalk.
- Parking Lot Lighting
- Yvette and Committee discovered previously purchased lights in storage; electrician will be contacted.
- Supplies ordered for Parks/Lands facilities and Community Center are billed separately.
- Beach restrooms

- Kiewit Memorial Tree Update
- Joan Kiewit will pay for the Japanese Lilac Tree.
- Gina is sourcing suppliers.

New Business:
- Memorial Bench from Chuck Perry platform – completed and appreciated by family and friends.
- Yvette requested a weed clean up along breakwater walk.
- September 23, 2022 at 9 am.
- Doug will take a request to the Harbor Commission concerning Halverson’s Fisheries keeping equipment clear of the access to the breakwater walkway.
- Improper kayak launching from Superior Avenue beach will be investigated by Greg.
- Several complaints were made to the Town about ADA non-compliant beach bathrooms. Doug will contact John Nedden-Durst for an assessment of all Town facilities.
- Picnic tables at Swenson Pavilion and Green Shed Pavilion need painting; scheduled for spring 2023.
- Greg will investigate sand movement at Superior Avenue beach.
