Short Term Rental Data Reports

The Town of Bell Planning Commission’s study committee on Short-Term Rentals has completed its work and the data and analyses generated are now available for public review. This committee convened in June 2022 and adjourned in March 2023.

This archive contains the following primary components:

1. Information regarding the current short-term rental marketplace in the Town of Bell and the economic impact of tourism more broadly in the community;

2. Information explaining the allowable contours of regulation of short-term rentals in the State of Wisconsin, including an extensive review of STR ordinances and related documents that have been implemented in other communities;

3. Data on wastewater generation by short-term rental properties in the Town, including comparisons to non-STR properties, as a means by which to quantify their impact on an element of Town infrastructure;

4. Information on the construction, administration, and results of multiple surveys and listening sessions conducted by the committee regarding the public perception of short-term rentals in the Town and the need for their potential regulation;

5. Copies of minutes from all committee meetings; and

6. Miscellaneous documents collected by the committee as part of its historical or secondary research into these issues.
